Anne brings a wealth of experience to her business and her clients. She is an economist and established business writer with more than fifteen years of experience inher field. The Love of Working From Home

Anne has no problem letting people know that she works from home. As a matter of fact, she wouldn't have it any other way:

"My official works hours are 9:30 to 3:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 9:00 to 2:00 on Wednesdays, which is my 9 year old son's short day at school.

"I work from home, in a small office in the garage, but I wouldn't change a thing, except for perhaps having a larger office. I can arrange an effective schedule that will meet the needs of my clients and my family - both are extremely important priorities in my life.

"Working from home affords me the flexibility to meet my younger child's needs, as well as the creativity to call my own shots, and make new decisions based on my own judgment - I wouldn't have it any other way!"

From One Woman In Business To Another...Words Of Advice

Anne has a thing or two to contribute to those that are considering starting their own business venture:

  • "Balance your advertising efforts between being patient about getting results (people need to see your business name at least 7 times before they'll do business with you) and getting a return on your investment dollar. It's hard to know the demographics of the web site or e-zine, and it could be that your advertising dollars are just going down the drain. If the e-zine owner doesn't know the demographics of its readers, don't advertise there: you need to match your target market with the people who will be viewing the ad for the best results for your money.
  • "If you are working at home with a family, create a schedule and stick to it as much as possible. Flexibility is great, but it's so easy to let chores, errands and family appointments eat into your work day. Since I work while my son is at school, I had to stop making any appointments during the school day, other than networking for business. Otherwise, my huge chunk of quality work time (I do a lot of research and writing, so I need that uninterrupted time to be successful) gets whittled away to nothing."
