First Proofreading and Editing Run
Because I provide an excellent service at a great price and I care about the end result of your work.
I do not assign proofreading and editing to other professionals - this is a part of my business that I take a very personal interest in; I prefer to work directly with every client.
During the first proofreading and editing run, every chapter is thoroughly read word-for-word, and checked for grammar, spelling, sentence structure, etc.
I make revisions in Word format and send your work back to you with the revisions noted. It's up to you to review these revisions and apply them as you see fit, and then send your manuscript back to me for a 2nd run.
This is your product; the original personality injected into the book by you should remain intact.
By working together we ensure that the completed book is something you are very proud of.
Second Proofreading and Editing Run
I perform a second check for grammar and spelling errors, and pay closer attention to sentence structure and sentence flow, as well as the transition between paragraphs and sections.
You receive your book with the second set of revisions either applied by me, or again as suggestions that you can apply yourself.
Layout Run
For an additional cost not included in the proofreading and editing service, I will prepare your work for layout, including consistent margins, headings and sub-headings, a proper table of contents, opening and ending sections, etc. I can save the finished layout in pdf or another format, depending on your printer's specifications.
Rate for Proofreading, Editing and Layout Services:
Work of this type is done on a per-hour basis, with a retainer paid by the client upon commencement of the work. I request to review at least a sample of your writing first before I commit to working with you. Hourly rate for all clients is $35.00 cdn per hour. Canadian clients are subject to HST. Christian material may be eligible for an hourly discount.
